Vinyl Records Top 5 eBay Sales Week Ending 05/31/2008

Top 5 List:

1. 78 - King Solomon Hill "Whoopee Blues" / "Down On My Bended Knee" Paramount 13116 - $4,169.99 Start: $9.99 Bids: 13

2. LP - Various (incl Bob Dylan) "Columbia April Demonstration Record" 1962 - $4,155.00 Start: $9.99 Bids: 30

3. LP - Jaques Dumont Bach Sonata & Partitas Belvedre - $4,049.00 Start: $999.99 Bids: 25

4. LP - Elvis Presley "Gold Records Vol 4" Mono Sealed = $3,300.01 Start: $9.99 Bids: 35

5. LP - Elvis Presley "Aloha From Hawii" Promo w/ Starkist Sticker - $3,000.00 Start: $3,000.00 Bids: 1

Another 78 makes the top of the list this week, King Solomon Hill (Blind Lemon's Friend it says on the Paramount lable) bids up past $4.1k. Selling for a few dollars less, a Columbia Demo record from the spring of 1962 also goes over $4.1k, primarily because it contains excerpts from Bob Dylan's first record, at the time titled "Freewheelin'" though this ended up being the title given to his second record.

In the #3 spot, a rare European Bach Sonatas performance hits $49.00 over $4k. One of these rare Bach records has been making the list almost every week for the past few months.

Elvis takes up the next two spots. In the #4 position, a sealed mono pressing of "Gold Records Vol 4" bids a penny past $3.3k. Lastly, a promo copy of "Aloha From Hawaii" sells with one bid at the asking price of $3k. This is the record with the Chicken of the Sea sticker on the jacket. In many ways there is just sooooooo much wrong with this record.
