Live 365 Station Update

A few interesting things up on eBay and the radio station this week. An obscre Plantation Records test press from Johnny Moore (country, not the R&B artist), and R&B and 60's Rock from Ty Hunter and The Crescents. Plus just for the radio station only, some stuff of my own from The Volcanos, The Federals, Ebony Web, Groove Holmes and others.

Vinyl Records Top 5 eBay Sales Week Ending 08/30/2008

Oops . . . it's been a year and four months since keeping this blog and I have not dropped a week yet - up until now. The notepad file overwritten, the data too old and fallen off eBay, and other sources too inconsistent to rely on makes this week the first hole.

Elvis takes up the next two spots. A sealed "Christmas Album" sells for half way past $2.6k and coming in a little bit less the bizarrely apt Chicken Of The Sea promo of the "Aloha" record.

Last, a punk 45 from The Nothing circa 1979 bids up over $2.5k.

Live 365 Station Update

Complete reworking of the playlist, but nothing real special up on eBay right now. About 85% of the radio playlist is fresh material from my own collection, including a few gems that shall not be parted with. What are they? . . . ah, you're just going to have to listen . . .

Vinyl Records Top 5 eBay Sales Week Ending 08/16/2008

Top 5 List:

1. 78 - Five Sharps "Stormy Weather" / "Sleepy Cowboy" Jubilee - $5,200.00 Start: $999.00

2. 45 - Nirvana "Love Buzz" 7" - $2,500.00 Start: $2,500.00 Bids: 1

3. 78 - Robert Johnson "Crossroad Blues" / "Rambling On My Mind" Vocalion - $2,345.00 Start: $499.00 Bids: 14

4. 45 - Brooks Bros "Lookin' For A Woman" / "Two Great Lovers" Tay - $2,247.22 Start: $999.99 Bids: 12

5. 45 - Eddie Cochran "Mean When I'm Mad" / "One Kiss" Liberty Picture Sleeve - $2,225.00 Start: $595.00 Bids: 8

A medium amount behind in my efforts here, but I always find my way back. So for this week, a 78 RPM breaks the-getting-frighteningly-rare $5k mark with a Five Sharps record on Jubilee. I think we can now send the Nirvana "Love Buzz" 45 to the Department Of Weights and Measures as the official currency standard of vinyl records. Here's another landing exactly on $2.5k. A second 78 shows up in the #3 spot, Robert Johnson "Crossroad Blues" on Vocalion bids up past $2.3k.

A Northern Soul 45 shows up in the #4 spot, a Brooks Bros on Tay selling for over $2.2k. And last, the only issue of a picture sleeve ever for Eddie Cochran (he didn't have Elvis's sneer or Buddy Holly's glasses) falls short by a few ten spots and some change still over $2.2k.
