As a romance Sweet Surrender works on all cylinders. Maybe it's a little too dreamy, girl finds music star and he doesn't turn out to be an egomaniac (maybe), but that's what romances are, and I learned the secret twenty five years ago that to connect with women, read what they read. Men read stuff we're smarter than. And as someone who has been in love with a plus size woman for most of those twenty five years, I connected with Bella's character.
