The sucking on a big toe withdrawn Madonna 12" Picture Disc from 1992 got the big bucks this week. It is one of 138 that are thought to exist from 50,000 that were destoyed in the UK before release (only royalty got to have pictures of themselves sucking on someone's toe). Next, a very rare Beatles vs Four Seasons 45, only 1000 were produced, sold for a little over $5,000.

In the 3rd and 4th spot are two rare 45's of the Psych Surf variety, eaching earning over $3500. And last, the god of the northern soul 45 market, Gene Toones, has a 45 selling for a little over $2500.

Vinyl Records Top 5 eBay Sales - 5 Week Update List

It's the busiest time of year for anyone selling things, not necessarily big things like building cranes, but more the smaller than a bread box type things that you keep around the house - I guess some nuclear weapons come smaller than a bread box, and that's not what I'm talking about - so I guess its the smaller-than-a-bread-box-type-things-for-people-who-don't-want-nuclear-weapons-around-the-house season for selling things. This is the category of customer I look for, which is not to say that my customers are saner than someone who wants a nuclear weapon around their house. These are record collectors who are my customers - a curmudgeonly bunch for sure. And they've been keeping me busy since I came back from the southwest U.S. with my haul of records. (I count myself as my own worst customer as my walls are keeping rows of LP's and 45's company while I pine for some un-neurotic clarity as to what I will keep and what I will sell). So, while like Santa I have been making lists and checking them twice, I have not been able to get to writing out the details for my blog of top selling records on eBay. Here are my lists for the past five weeks, without commentary, and most of the details have long slipped from the mind of eBay (check Popsike in a few months for specifics, eventually they'll show up there):
