A very rare mono promo of Jimi Hendrix's Axis Bold As Love LP topped eBay auctions this week, selling for $3,500.01. The record was a white label promo on Reprise and is considered the rarest of Jimi Hendrix LP releases. The seller received 5 bids from a starting bid of $1,999.00.Coming in the #2 spot, a U2 3 track "Out Of Control" 12" single sold for $2,551.00, receiving 19 bids from a starting bid of $500.00. This close was less than half that of the copy that topped the week ending 7/28.
A Northern Soul 45 made the #3 spot. Joe Jama's "'My Life" / "Sleep Late My Lady Friend" on the Optimum label sold for $2,325.00 receiving 25 bids from a starting bid of only $0.99.
Next, another Northern Soul record, The Grovettes' "Ain't A Thing You Can Do About It" / "Think It Over Baby" closed at $2,249.99. The record opened at $500.00 and received 16 bids.
In the the #5 spot, Nivana's "Love Buzz" single sold for $1,825.01, receiving 21 bids from a starting bid of $499.99.
