A month behind in the Top 5 and only more time to lose. This is the time of year, that for my own trade secrets, I spend a week or so in the California and Arizona desert to gather inventory. I'm spending the night in Seligman on old Rt 66, partially for the harmonic nostalgia value and mostly because I was too damn tired to go on to Williams. I wanted to stay at the Supai because of the cool and "legendary" sign but I have my dog with me so I'm across the street at the Deluxe where they don't care if you're a dog.
Ate dinner at the Copper Cart Restaurant. The patrons consisted of half a dozen locals, two couples from France who were finishing their own motor tour of the US and on their way to Los Angeles to fly home, and me and my own. The cafe owner asked the four French travelers if they found Americans friendly. They all agreed we are a very friendly bunch, but one of the women felt it needed pointing out that we Americans eat too much. I'm sure France will ship us another statue when we get it all perfect.
Anyway . . . some things of note on the above lists. Lots of those Hank Mobley Blue Note's are changing hands, and quite a few Nivana "Love Buzz" 45's too. I loved seeing Tool get one of highest bids in a long time. Seems the 21st century is on. And of very worthy note, the first Childrens' record made the list, and rightly so it goes to Winnie-The-Pooh, with a 78 RPM record set.
