Turning Around . . . Shall I Hunt For The Green Ford Bronco

I'm in Kingman, AZ the afternoon after thunderstorms moved through the Peach Springs area and the weather service extended flood warnings throughout the day. After leaving Willams, I took Route 66 from Crookton east looking for a 1920's bridge by Partridge Creek on the older alignment. Never found the bridge but now that I'm back in wireless land I see my mistake on Google maps. I will go back to find it tomorrow. Besides, I was left with only two hours of daylight for the Seligman to Kingman run after the flood warning was lifted.

Here is a picture of the 1920's alignment bypassing Crookton Hill (that's a road runner in the middle of the picture on the right side of the road -- my wife saw the fellow traveler catch and chow down a small snake as we passed by):

Here's the 1930's bridge at Crookton Pass:

Somewhere along the way west and past Tucumcari, Paul McCartney navigates Route 66 in a green Ford Bronco. When I'm not seaching out the oldest parts of Route 66, I'll be stopping in cafe and souvenir shop's inquiring about Beatle sightings and looking for Broncos.

Here's an album of the pictures we took between Crookton and Kingman:
